SambaNova Systems is a hardware and software company that supplies enterprise organizations the ability to utilize artificial intelligence. Due to how the systems are built, SambaNova is able to support agencies and entities such as government, military, legal, scientific research, and financial institutions.

Early in 2024, SambaNova released Samba-1, a unique software offering that is made up of what data scientists call a “composition of experts”. This includes a large AI model that is paired with a number of small specialty models. Plaid Again’s solution of how to represent Samba-1 was solved by using a cube shape that incorporated the clients brand colors and dot pattern.

While exploring visuals for the client, Plaid Again developed a star-like shape that represented AI software in action. The concept was based on breaking down the company name into Samba, a Brazilian dance, and Nova, the birth of a star.

The star graphic became a key visual in the design of a trade show booth at an AI convention in London, England.

In Q1 of 2024 Plaid Again was tasked with creating compelling visuals that illustrated hardware, software, fine-tuning, and control. We collaborated with the Triangle Twins to produce looping animations to be used across multiple design deliverables.

Plaid Again continues to push SambaNova’s brand marketing visuals with the creative direciton of “simple yet explanatory”.
